Excellent summary of the beliefs the WTS instills in its victims so that they’re afraid to leave.

Fascinating Article About The Psycology of JW's and Apostasy
by PublishingCult indysfunctional beliefs of a jehovahs witness apostatethe jehovahs witness organization is a cult in that it:.

this means no individual interpretation allowed.prohibits member dissent from the orders of each kingdom halls network of elders, which is why child abuse has been kept hush hush and has been rampant within the organization.prohibits its members from interacting with non-witnesses, beyond the extent of trying to convert them.threatens its members with disavowment should they consort with non-witnesses beyond the extent of trying to convert them (that includes any family members who have left are not a part of the organization).threatens its members with hell-sentences should they invoke disavowment (which is explained below) and this is some serious brainwashing.read more .

If you knew me in real life, you’d know that I have a great sense of humour. Unfortunately Outlaw doesn’t know when to funny, and when not to be.
Cagefighter, I hope your friend gets the help she needs. I have anxiety issues but nothing like her’s. All the best to you both.

Be careful that you don’t become her caretaker, instead of being her boyfriend.
Some guys seem to like being a girl’s saviour *shrug* I wish I could find a guy like that. Most guys run at the thought of a girl having issues.

Anyone watch USA vs Czech Republic game last night?
by lepermessiah ini am so tired of usa soccer.. i keep waiting for this giant step forward, but the national team has been stuck in neutral for years now.. ever since the excitement of 1994, i have been expecting a gradual improvement on the world stage.. everytime they play a quality opponent, they get exposed as a 2nd rate team.
it has been that way for years.the defense last night was horrific, and even though they scored twice against petr cech, both goals were from sloppy set-pieces.. the commentators last night even suggested before the match that the usa has a golden opportunity vs england in the first round of the world cup.....yeah right.
i remember the same chatter in 1998 against germany, and germany annihilated them (score was not indicative of the domination) you can throw the rankings out the window - the usa is still not a player on the big stage.. (now watch them come out blazing in the wc2010 - lol).

Considering that soccer/football is practically a religion in Europe and South America, America has a long way to go before it has any hope of being on the same stage as the other teams.

Maybe she didn’t have anyone nearby to seek help from, and she leans upon Cagefighter for emotional support?
She definitely has some issues, as evidenced by the panic attacks and obvious fear of intimacy.

This statement worries me more than anything you have posted in this thread. Sounds like you’ve got a girl with heaps of issues. The panic attacks are just a physical manifestation of them.
Oh, and OUTLAW – if you’ve got nothing productive to say, then shut up. Cagefighter is asking for help, and all you can post are childish jokes. Stop being an idiot, if you can.

Did You Know Any Jehovah's Witnesses That "Did" Drugs?
by minimus inmy teenage daughter suggested to me that certain kids in well connected families were regular pot smokers.
it was always hush hush because of their connections but evidently it was common knowledge within the "in" crowd.. i knew some adults that were on prescription pills but they had legitimate excuses for being "happy".
of course, most jws i know of, medicate themselves on booze..

I didn’t know anyone who did, but that doesn’t mean that no one was using drugs, it just means that I was naïve enough to think that that didn’t go on in “the truth”. I remember one young couple who got df’d about 6 mths after they were married and drug use was involved, but I suspect that that wasn’t the only reason they were df’d.
